Baklava Muffins Recipe

Baklava Muffins combine the warm flavors of cinnamon, honey, walnuts, and pistachios in a soft bakery-style muffin.
Inspired by classic Mediterranean baklava, these muffins are easier to make and perfect for breakfast or dessert.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup finely chopped walnuts
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pistachios
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • Extra pistachios for topping

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a 12-cup muffin tin.
  2. Whisk flour, sugars, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Whisk eggs, milk, melted butter, and vanilla in a separate bowl.
  4. Pour wet ingredients into dry ingredients and stir just until combined.
  5. Fold in chopped walnuts and pistachios.
  6. Divide batter evenly among muffin cups, filling each about 3/4 full.
  7. Bake for 18–20 minutes until golden and a toothpick comes out clean.
  8. Brush warm muffins with honey and sprinkle with extra pistachios before serving.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the batter or the muffins may become dense.
  • For extra baklava flavor, add a pinch of ground cardamom.
  • Warm the honey slightly before brushing for easier spreading.
  • Store in an airtight container for up to 3 days.
  • These muffins freeze well for up to 2 months.
