  • ½ cup 113g unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar sifted
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • teaspoon salt

Method

  1. Place the softened cream cheese and butter into a large mixing bowl.
  2. Beat until completely smooth and creamy.
  3. Add the vanilla extract and salt.
  4. Gradually mix in the powdered sugar, one cup at a time.
  5. Beat on medium-high speed for 2–3 minutes until light and fluffy.
  6. Scrape down the sides of the bowl as needed.
  7. Use immediately or refrigerate until ready to frost your desserts.

Notes

  • Always use softened cream cheese and butter for a lump-free frosting.
  • Sift the powdered sugar for the smoothest texture.
  • Chill the frosting for 20–30 minutes if it becomes too soft.
  • Add a little lemon zest for a fresh citrus flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
